Life can be hectic. But that doesn’t mean your work schedule should be! At Red Lobster, we know our team members have classes to attend, families to support and goals to pursue. That’s why our team members enjoy a healthy balance between their work life and personal life so they can focus on what really matters – accomplishing their professional dreams at Red Lobster!

Our team members find balance that works for them in the following ways:

  1. Working with managers to create flexible schedules that allow them to work around important events in their lives—like taking children to doctor’s appointments or attending classes.
  2. Red Lobster’s hours of operations allow most team members to be off the clock most nights by 10 or 11 pm.

We asked some of our team members what they thought about Red Lobster’s work/life balance and they had a lot to say!
Quinn Crosby, a Server at our Morgantown, WV Red Lobster, explained how her flexible schedule allowed her to succeed while taking classes:

“I’m in my final semester at West Virginia University where I’m studying broadcast journalism and working as an unpaid student reporter and news anchor for the school. I have long days doing that, working 9-5, and Red Lobster has helped a lot. Whenever I need to update my availability they always work with me—for example, on Wednesdays I don’t get off from my school job until 5, and Red Lobster made it so I can come in at 5:30.”

Justin Hicks, Certified Restaurant Supervisor at our Morgantown, WV location, shared how Red Lobster’s hours of operation work for him:

“The time that we close at night is great. I don’t have to get up too early in the morning to go to work, and I don’t have to stay too late at night. It allows me to catch a late dinner with friends or family; possibly go catch a late showing of a movie if I am interested in doing that. I also have time to relax and unwind after a busy day at work. When I was a student, it was very helpful when it came time for studying for tests or doing assignments because I wasn’t getting off work so late that I didn’t want to study or that I might miss a deadline for an assignment that was due at midnight. I am thankful for our hours of operation.”
